Jessie Burchfield, RN, BSN

I was a client first.

For seven years I was the one in the chair, getting Botox and filler myself, before I ever trained to give them. I'm very particular about symmetry and balance — that's exactly why I wanted to be the one doing it.

Who I am

I'm a nurse and a mom, and I've got a caretaker's heart. I spent over seventeen years in nursing, including labor and delivery — when you've done that kind of work, you learn to build trust with someone fast. I'm deeply compassionate and personable, and I'll go out of my way to make sure you're comfortable and heard.

Why I do this

I'd wanted to do this for a long time. I get injectables done for myself, for my own confidence and my own sense of well-being, and I wanted to be able to offer that to other women too.

About the room

Yes, this is run out of my own home. I designed this room myself: I had a vision for it and brought it to life piece by piece, and I'm proud of how it turned out. It has its own entrance and it's used for clients only. My family and pets don't come into it, ever.

What the room actually looks like

The walls are a rosy terracotta. The treatment chair is an emerald velvet fainting chair — not the kind of chair you'd expect at an appointment like this. There's a chandelier overhead. I have a relaxing jazz playlist that plays by default. If you'd rather pick your own music, you can — it's all Bluetooth.

You'll probably meet Clover

My dog barks when she hears someone at the door — loud for about ten seconds, then sweet as anything. I have two cats, but you'll probably never know they're here because they hide.

About this part of town

I love where I live. The house is old and a little imperfect, which is part of why I love it — a quiet, well-lit corner near the Milligan campus, with a big, private backyard.

The training behind it

Trained at the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) — which I consider the top school in the country for injector training — and AAFE certified in Botulinum Toxins and Dermal Fillers. Seventeen years as a nurse, most of them in labor and delivery and postpartum, which taught me to build trust quickly. Seven years as a Botox and filler client myself, so I know what it's like to be the one in the chair. Practicing under physician delegation in Tennessee.

I've lived in Johnson City all my life.
